#3 Maggie Reed!

'How has being a part of Middletown girls lacrosse impacted me as a person and what has it taught me?'

Answer: Becoming a part of the Middletown girls lacrosse program was one of the best things that has ever happened to me! I believe that this program has not only allowed me to become a better lacrosse player, but has taught me important life lessons that have shaped me into the successful, driven girl I am today! Middletown lacrosse has given me a totally new perspective of lacrosse, and had taught me that its not only a game but a way to connect with others and create friendships that will last a lifetime.

'What are your pregame rituals that you use to maximize your performance?

Answer: Before a game I always take time to clear my head, I will do this by mediating, taking a few deep breaths, or simply just put in my headphones and listen to music. Once it gets closer to game time I listen to head banging music on my way to the locker room to get myself pumped up! Lastly, right before the game I pray with the whole team.

'What was your favorite moment in your MHS career?'

Answer: Throughout my MHS lacrosse career, my favorite moment was when we beat Oakdale my junior year. I remember counting down the last 5 seconds of the game and getting ready to run and tackle Bridgette Remsburg because she had the most amazing game! Everyone was celebrating! If I could go back to any moment, it would be that one!

'What would you say to an incoming freshman playing on the team next year? Any tips, tricks, or general advice on how to maximize this experience?'

Answer: My advice to incoming underclassman would be to work hard but sure you're having fun while doing so. It is so important that you come out of each lacrosse season feeling like you have improved as a player, but it is even more important that you come out of every season with great memories and stronger friendships! My MHS lacrosse career would not be the same if it wasn't for my amazing teammates that turned out to become my best friends! Another tip is to not take ANYTHING for granted, and to always "play every game like it's your last", because you never truly know when it may be your last.

'My plans for after graduation are?'

Answer: After graduation I plan to attend Florida Institute of Technology (also known as Florida Tech) to play lacrosse and further my education. I plan to major in Marine Biology Conservation so that I can help slow down the rapidly increasing number of species that are going extinct. I will also use this knowledge to make the world a healthier place by educating others on what they can to to help protect our planet. Florida Tech is also located on Melbourne Beach, so after graduation I plan on laying on the sand and possibly getting a pet shark.
